Posted by I have my boat for sale. I got an inquiry from an interested party. He’s an oceanographer at sea on special assignment and wants to buy the boat as a surprise gift for his family. He’d like to send someone to pick the boat up and pay with PayPal. Obviously, this guy is a scam, but it made me wonder… Just how does one accept payment for a $12,500 boat? $12,500 is a lot of cash, but accepting a check seems dicey.Any suggestions/war stories?
