East Coast coastal sailor that can cross the Atlantic

Hi all,I’ve always thought of bluewater boats as full keel, heavy displacement, etc, but several of you here have broadened my thinking. I am on the East Coast in North America and am thinking about a sailboat that would be both good for the fickle winds of the East Coast, as well as being able to make it to Europe.
