Whilst working on his boat in St. Martin he was taken away by the current. Lost his cellular signal to call for help.
He survived for 24 days adrift at sea on a concoction of ketchup, garlic powder, and Maggie seasoning mixed with water. He was constantly trying to keep water from coming into the boat. He collected rainwater.
