Hand feeding a whale

It was off the north coast of Iceland in 1991. I had talked to fishermen in Reykjavik and they said that the best fishing was just offshore where the depth drops off steeply at 150 feet, down to the depths. I lowered a line to 160 feet, jigged it a few times and hooked a cod. They were not fighters, but the reel up to the surface probably took 10 minutes or more.
